Natural stone has long been used for countertops. Granite is the most durable natural stone and is known for colorful and unique patterns. Marble and Quartzite and Soapstone are also popular countertop choices, but are harder to maintain. For some, however, the beauty of natural stone may outweigh any drawbacks in terms of maintenance.
